Friday’s Fast Five is a series on Brittany’s Best where I share five quick tips that I’ve found helpful as a seller on Etsy.
Improving the quality of your photos is undeniably one of the best things you can do for your Etsy shop. I’m living proof that you don’t have to be a trained photographer to produce attractive photos. These basic tips and a little practice will have you on the road to Etsy’s front page.
Make your items shine – natural daylight does this better than any expensive light box you can buy.
Busy backgrounds distract from your product. Avoid patterns – Etsy’s front page is chock full of items with white backgrounds.
Blurry pictures are a big turnoff to buyers; a sharp photo makes a great first impression. Don’t let potential buyers think you don’t care!
Use all the photo spaces allowed. Show your item from different angles. Set a stage for your item to shine.
Place objects with well-known sizes, like a coin or ruler, in the photo with your item to show the scale of your item.
See you next week for more tips of the trade!
